There is also a slight resolution hack you can do in Windows by setting a custom resolution that I think helps a little bit, I'll look for it later. When I had it set to 144HZ, it would flick on/off very frequently. It still flicks off occasionally for a second or two, but usually only a couple of times a day. One thing that vastly helped is setting my Windows refresh rate to 120HZ 1440P. The VRR is the big reason because you can now use FreeSync with DP and also I believe HDMI (1.4) does not support 1440P 144 HZ but I could be wrong about that.

FYI I'm using DP connection on a GTX 1080 TI and have tried a different DP cable without any real success, although its possible both my DP cables are not great but I find the cable-issue to be very unlikely. I think if you have that option, you might want to consider it. I think its a hardware problem and these monitors are not very well made is my guess, which is sad because I probably would have returned it had I known this was going to be a shitty monitor. I have a similar problem with this model I bought back in December, but to a much less degree, especially now after tweaking it.

Update: If I turn down the resolution to 1080p then I can get 144hz over the DisplayPort.

I downloaded the ViewSonic driver that should work for my setup (Driver Signed Windows 10 圆4) but I get an error that says to download the "Driver Unsigned Windows 圆4." When I tried using the driver that it suggested then I get the following error, "These monitor drivers do not support this operating system." Not sure if the drivers have anything to do with the issue or not.

I set it up using a DisplayPort cord that I had laying around (could be the root of the issue) and the monitor will flash on an off every few seconds, not flickering, going completely black and then back on. So I just set up my ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD gaming monitor and I am having some issues and don't know where to start.
